At Komvux as adapted education, we provide education for adult students with intellectual disabilities and acquired brain injuries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to contribute to the learning of adult individuals? With us, you will be part of an engaged workplace characterized by joy and pride in work. As a teacher within Komvux as adapted education, you work to create good conditions for each student's learning and development.

Teaching takes place in smaller groups or individually at adapted basic and upper secondary levels and is aimed at adult students with intellectual disabilities or acquired brain injuries. The work requires good structure, flexibility, and the ability to meet students with different needs.

Your responsibilities include:

• Planning, implementing, following up, and developing teaching within adapted education for adults
• Teaching students at adapted basic and upper secondary levels, individually or in smaller groups
• Adapting teaching and learning environments based on students' individual conditions
• Documenting, following up, and analyzing results
• Contributing to an inclusive, safe, and participatory learning environment
• Collaborating with colleagues and being an active part of an engaged teaching team
• Working in a structured and efficient manner with all tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute with their expertise within Komvux as adapted education and who thrives in a relationship-building and developing teaching role.

Formal qualifications:

• Teaching license
• Special education degree with specialization in developmental disabilities or special pedagogy
• Several years of experience working as a teacher in adapted schools
• Good knowledge of and familiarity with the curriculum for adapted basic and upper secondary schools (GY25)

To succeed in this role, you are:

• Relationship-building and unpretentious, with the ability to create trust in professional relationships with students, colleagues, and external actors
• Confident and inspiring in your teaching role, motivating and engaging students based on their individual conditions
• Structured and plans your work with good foresight
• Flexible and easily adapts to changing circumstances that may arise in and outside the classroom
• Collaborative and contributes to an open and trusting dialogue in all contexts

In accordance with Gävle municipality's values, you have a good attitude, strong collaboration skills, and prioritize high quality in your work.

It is advantageous for the position if you have:

• Knowledge in AAC
• Training in SVA
• Experience teaching students with a mother tongue other than Swedish
